adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2008-33
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 2008 CENTRAL GARAGE BUDGET TO
PROVIDE FOR THE EARLY ORDER/PURCHASE OF MOWER UNIT NO. 220
WHEREAS, City Equipment No. 220 is a 72-inch span turf mower that was purchased
in 2001 with an anticipated replacement cycle of 8 years; and
WHEREAS, significant mechanical engine failure of said mower unit has resulted in
repair costs exceeding the remaining value of the equipment; and
WHEREAS, the list price for a replacement Toro Groundmaster 3280-D mower is
$19,544.00 on the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture contract and the manufacturer
is offering $4,750 trade-in for the existing mower unit, resulting in a net purchase price of $15,755.61
including sales tax; and
WHEREAS, Fiscal & Support Services staff has determined that the Central Garage
equipment replacement balance has sufficient funds to cover the purchase price stated above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota that the early order and purchase of one Toro Groundmaster, Model 3280-D, as part
of the Minnesota State Cooperative Purchasing Venture at a total estimated net cost of $15,755.61 is
hereby approved.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Mark Yelich
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.
Tim Willson, Dan Ryan, and Mark Yelich;
and the following voted against the same: none;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
