HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-042 CCRMember Dan Ryan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2008-42 RESOLUTION ADJUSTING THE SALARY OF THE CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, the City Manager is under an employment contract with the City of Brooklyn Center entitled CITY MANAGER EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT, dated as of September 25, 2006, ("Employment Agreement"); and WHEREAS, Section 8(B) of the Employment Agreement provides that the City Manager's Salary shall be increased to $119,000 effective July 1, 2007, if the City Manager's performance is deemed to be satisfactory and thereafter, the Manager's salary shall be reviewed and considered at the same time as consideration of salary for other non-union employees of the City; and WHEREAS, a salary increase of 3 percent was approved for other non-union employees effective January 1, 2008; and WHEREAS, the City Council met in Work Session on February 25, 2008, and the majority consensus of the Council was to direct staff to present a resolution approving a 3 percent pay increase to the 2008 City Manager's Salary for consideration at the March 24, 2008, meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota: The City Council in accordance with 8(B) of the Employment Agreement, with City Manager, authorizes a 3 percent increase to the current $119,000 salary of the City Manager effective January 1, 2008. March 24, 2008 Date Mayor I ATTEST: ~Z" City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Tim Willson, Kay La.sman, and Dan Ryan; and the following voted against the same: Mary 0' Connor and Mark Yelich; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
