HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-08 07-13 CCO CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on the 13th day of July 2015, at 7 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway,to consider an ordinance providing for the acquisition and pass-through sale of certain land in the City. ORDINANCE NO. 2015-08 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF TAX FORFEITED PROPERTY AND EXECUTION OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO DISPOSE OF THE PROPERTY THE CITY- COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: I. BACKGROUND 1.1. Hennepin County acquired through tax forfeiture a parcel of real property in the City legally described as (the"Subject Property"): Lot 26, Block 3,ELSEN'S CITY VIEW 3RD ADDITION 1.2. The City wishes to facilitate the pass through conveyance of the Subject Property from Hennepin County, to the City, to the City's Economic Development Authority ("EDA"), and then to the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation on the condition that the property is used for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. II. ACQUISITION OF SUBJECTPROPERTY 2.1 The Mayor and City Manager are authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to acquire the Subject Property from Hennepin County. III. SALE OF PROPERTY 3.1 The Mayor and City Manager are authorized and directed to execute a quit claim deed to the Subject Property and take all steps necessary to affect the transfer thereof to the EDA to facilitate the transfer to Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation. IV. EFFECTIVE DATE 4.1. This Ordinance shall become effective after adoption and upon thirty (30) days following its legal publication.
