HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-006 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2001-06 RESOLUTION APPROVING LETTER OF AGREEMENT FOR MODIFICATION OF THE LABOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER AND INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS (IUOE) LOCAL NO. 49 WHEREAS, an analysis of job duties and operations at the Central Garage resulted in the identification of duties that could be more efficiently conducted, and; WHEREAS, greater efficiency could be achieved by combining certain duties previously performed by both union and non-union personnel in Public Works, and; WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Assistant City Manager met with Union representatives to discuss the proposed re-organization and re-assignment of duties, and; WHEREAS, the Union representatives concurred with the proposed re-organization, including elimination of a crew leader position and addition of a new position known as Mechanic II and signed a letter dated December 7, 2000 affirming Union support. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Manager is authorized to include the signed letter of agreement with the agreement document containing the current agreement dated January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2002. Myrna Kragness, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
