its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-13
RESOLUTION APPOINTING AUDITORS FOR THE YEAR ENDED
DECEMBER 31. 2000
WHEREAS, Section 7.01 of the City Charter provides that the City Council shall
have full authority over the financial affairs of the City, including the conduct of an annual audit;
and
. WHEREAS, the City Council has contracted with the firm Deloitte and Touche for
the conduct of these audits for the years 1987 through 1999; and
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed an Audit Committee to conduct a request
for proposal process in 1994 and they have recommended that Deloitte & Touche LLP be retained
as the City's auditor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a Policy and Procedure on Requests for
Proposals for Financial Professional Services establishing a schedule which sets the year 2001 as
the next time that requests for proposals will be solicited for auditors; and
WHEREAS, Deloitte and Touche has submitted a proposal to audit the City for the
year 2000 at a fee of $26,900 for the city audit and plus $4,000 for the audit of federal grants,
should that be necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that Deloitte and Touche be appointed to conduct the City audit for the year~~
at a fee of $30,900. D~

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Fd Nelson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.
Myrna Kragness, Kay Tasman, Ed Nelson and Robert Peppe;
and the following voted against the same: none;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
