HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-152 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2008-152 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EMPLOYEE USE OF COMMUNITY CENTER AT NO CHARGE WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center recognizes that the health of its employees is very important; and WHEREAS, the benefits of helping our workforce stay healthy are substantial, as it allows workers to be more productive, reduces the number of workdays lost to illness and lowers health care costs; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Employee Wellness Subcommittee has requested that Brooklyn Center employees be able to use the Community Center at no charge during non-work hours, as a way of encouraging fitness and improved health; and WHEREAS, there would be no significant impact on the budget by allowing said use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota: Employees are authorized to use the Community Center according to the following parameters: 1. Regular Employees upon request will be provided individual memberships to the Community Center. 2. Employees can upgrade to a dual or household membership by paying the difference between the fees. 3. Use of the Community Center will be restricted to non-work hours. 4 Program will commence January 1, 2009. December 8. 2008 Date Mayor ATTEST: V,-/ 'r)0- W y( -V/YU-'kM . City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Dan Ryan and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Tim Willson, Kay Lasman, Dan Ryan, and Mark Yelich; and the following voted against the same: Mary O'Connor; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
