HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-114 CCRMember Lin Myszkowski moved its adoption: introduced the following resolution and RESOLUTION NO 2016-114 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2016-06, FREEWAY BOULEVARD MILL AND OVERLAY (EAST OF XERXES AVENUE) STREET IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council, by Resolution No. 2016-109, ordered Improvement Project No. 2016-06 and authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the Freeway Boulevard Mill and Overlay (East of Xerxes Avenue) Street Improvements; and WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been prepared under the direction of the City Engineer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1.The plans and specifications for Improvement Project No. 2016-06 are hereby approved and filed with the City Clerk. 2.The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper and in Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids for the making of such improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, shall specify the work to be done and shall state the time and location at which bids will be opened by the City Clerk and the City Manager or their designees. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the City Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City of Brooklyn Center for five percent of the amount of such bid.
