HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-116 CCRMember Lin Tyszkowski introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2016-116 RESOLUTION APPROVING EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT BUDGET AMENDMENT WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center's Public Works facility contains three vehicle lifts that are in poor condition and scheduled to be replaced; and WHEREAS, the vehicle lift hydraulic system failed on July 15, 2016, and is expected to have released approximately 195 gallons of hydraulic oil in the underlying soils of the garage bays; and WHEREAS, the vehicle lifts are essential to the mission of the Central Garage; and WHEREAS, vehicle lift 1 was scheduled for 2016 and vehicle lift 2 was scheduled for 2017; and WHEREAS, replacing lift 1 and 2 and proceeding with the anticipated contamination remediation concurrently would minimize project cost and impact. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the 2016 equipment replacement budget is hereby amended and the City Manager is authorized to proceed with the purchase and replacement of vehicle Lift 1, vehicle lift 2 and the potential remediation of the hydraulic oil release at the City of Brooklyn Center's Public Works facility. July 25, 2016 Date Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Dan Ryan and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Tim Willson, April Graves, Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Lin Myszkowski, Dan Ryan and the following voted against the same: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
