HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014 06-17 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes June 17, 2014 PRESENT Phil Marbut, Myrna Kauth, Cathy Ballot, Lin Myszkowski, Tom Shinnick, Steve Makowske and Sue LaCrosse. Cathy Ballot called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a motion by Lin Myszkowski, seconded by Cathy Ballot to approve the minutes of June 10, 2014. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT Cathy Ballot reported a balance of $20,510.76. COMMITTEE REPORTS Budget/Finance: Sue LaCrosse said we received an additional $40 for political parade units. Parade: Phil Marbut reported the units are numbered. The St. Paul Clown Club dropped out. We did not hear back from Christy’s. Sue LaCrosse will contact Robbinsdale Schools. She did not receive their unit form. Craft & Business Expo: Lin Myszkowski has been working on a map. She said her husband and daughter will help her. She is a little concerned about the hair spray paint being used by one of the exhibitors. Sue LaCrosse will contact them. Kids’ Craft Area: No report. Kids’ Planting Activity: No report. Face Painting: North Memorial will sponsor the face painting activity. Family Fun & Games: Cathy Ballot said she has more prizes. She is trying to schedule volunteers. Fire Truck: Sue LaCrosse said she will request the truck be over by the softball fields instead of the parking lot. Golf Tournament: Steve Makowske reported he has 33 registrants so far. This is up from last year even with the higher registration fee. There will be a better meal and better prizes. Kids’ Fishing Contest: Sue LaCrosse isn’t sure if any of the volunteers will take fish off hooks. Myrna Kauth said she might be able to help if no one comes forward. Music/Fireworks: Myrna Kauth and Cathy Ballot contributed $250 each for the Capri Big Band. Petting Zoo: No report. 1 Publicity: Sue LaCrosse reported that Phil Marbut and Cathy Ballot were interviewed by Ann Gallagher. Myrna Kauth said she got the EBD flyer in her water bill. Sue LaCrosse said the Star Tribune ads will be in Sunday’s paper. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Sue LaCrosse said an event has been added. Hennepin County Sheriff’s department is sending two mounted patrols. Cathy Ballot reported a $540 deposit. CHECK REQUEST: Grannies Donuts - $4.50/person for exhibitors for donuts & coffee BC Lions - $3.00/person for exhibitors for hotdog & pop Capri Big Band - $500 Fun Characters - $220 for face painting Fireworks - $5,000 Aqua Jesters - $100 Hui’s Lucky Lion - $25 There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Steve Makowske to pay these bills.
