Meeting Minutes
June 2, 2015
PRESENT
Tom Shinnick, Bob Dillon, Lin Myszkowski, Myrna Kauth. Jack MacMillan, Jill Dalton and Sue
LaCrosse.
Tom Shinnick called the meeting to order at 4:44 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There was a motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Bob Dillon to approve the minutes of May 19, 2015.
Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Checkbook balance is $22,732.46.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Budget/Finance:
Sue LaCrosse reviewed the working financial spreadsheet. She said we received four
exhibitors for the Craft & Business Expo and one paid parade unit.
Craft & Business Expo:
Lin Myszkowski reported there are 22 exhibitors. She introduced Jack
MacMillan who will be working with her. She said she put a post on the Brooklyn Center Bulletin
Board Facebook page looking for vendors. She thinks two of the new exhibitors are because of the post.
She said she has business cards of crafters and has sent them an email. Jack MacMillan will help make
potential exhibitor contacts.
Kids’ Craft Area:
No report.
Face Painting:
All set.
Family Fun & Games:
Myrna Kauth said Cathy Ballot is working on getting volunteers and prizes.
Fire Truck:
No report.
Golf Tournament:
No report.
Kids’ Fishing Contest:
Sue LaCrosse reported police explorers will assist with the contest. She will
have a recreation staff member and BrookPark Dental will have volunteers for check-in of participants.
Music/Fireworks:
All set.
Parade:
Bob Dillon reported the trophies are ready. Sue LaCrosse asked if he needed tables and an
extension cord for the band awards ceremony. Sue LaCrosse will contact the mayor to see if he will be
supplying his own car. Bob Dillon will contact the mayor about presenting at the band awards
ceremony. Bob Dillon has the banners and signs. Sue LaCrosse will make the signs for the cars for the
EBD chair, councilmembers, mayor and grand marshal.

Petting Zoo:
No report.
Publicity:
Sue LaCrosse said the Star Tribune ad has been approved. She has flyers for committee
members to distribute. Bob Dillon and Lin Myszkowski were interviewed for a Channel 12 segment.
OLD BUSINESS:
Jill Dalton reported that she has reserved the trash stations and the organics stations plus two large carts.
She will open two stations at 10:00 a.m., two more at Noon and the last two at 2:00 p.m. She has
contacted the Boy Scouts and the food vendors and is waiting to hear back from most.
NEW BUSINESS:
None.
NEXT MEETING:Cohen room
Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 4:30 p.m., at Community Center.
