Meeting Minutes
March 17, 2015
PRESENT
Tom Shinnick, Cathy Ballot, Bob Dillon, Councilmember Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Lin Myszkowski,
Myrna Kauth and Sue LaCrosse.
Tom Shinnick called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Lin Myszkowski to approve the minutes of February
17, 2015. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Cathy Ballot reported a checkbook balance of $12,466.48. She has a deposit of $5,175. There was a
motion by Myrna Kauth, seconded by Councilmember Kris Lawrence-Anderson to approve the
treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Budget/Finance:
Sue LaCrosse reviewed the working financial spreadsheet. There have been some
donations, paid units and three exhibitors for Craft & Business Expo. We received a check for $2,000
from the American Legion.
Craft & Business Expo:
Lin Myszkowski said when Earle Brown Days is over she would like to have
a subcommittee meet to discuss freshening up the expo. She thinks we might be missing potential
exhibitors. Myrna Kauth suggested sending something to the Sun Post. Councilmember Kris
Lawrence-Anderson suggested promoting at the Community Corner, churches and CEAP.
Kids’ Craft Area:
Sue LaCrosse said the children will be able to color a canvas puppet.
Face Painting:
All set.
Family Fun & Games:
No report.
Fire Truck:
All set.
Golf Tournament:
The tournament price was raised to $27.00.
Kids’ Fishing Contest:
Sue LaCrosse said we received a donation from BrookPark Dental. Cathy
Ballot will talk to Kevin Benner about volunteers.
Music/Fireworks:
All set.
Parade:
Bob Dillon reported we have six bands coming back. There was discussion on how bands
were selected. Bob Dillon and Sue LaCrosse said the six bands from last year were invited and all
accepted. The committee decided to keep the band limit at six and accept one or two drumlines. Sue
LaCrosse will set up a meeting with the parade committee, police department and Todd Berg from the

public works department.
Petting Zoo:
All set.
Publicity:
Sue LaCrosse reported we will add the additional zip code for our Star Tribune ad. She
suggested we have a sign made for the Petting Zoo and put the Minneapolis Northwest Logo on it
showing sponsorship of the event. Sue LaCrosse and Tom Shinnick will go over to FastSigns to see
how much a sign would cost. The committee may decide to buy other signs.
OLD BUSINESS
Sue LaCrosse said she talked to Vickie Schleuning about a prescription drop-off. Vickie thought there
would be too much traffic to make it compatible with the festival. The committee decided not to include
it.
NEW BUSINESS:
None.
