HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016 02-16 EBDM Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes January 12, 2016 PRESENT Bob Dillon, Sharon Kephart, Angie Crouch, Tom Shinnick, Melvin Anderson, Lisa Anderson, Cathy Ballot, Jill Pettit and Sue LaCrosse. Tom Shinnick called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a motion by Cathy Ballot, seconded by Bob Dillon to approve the minutes of January 12, 2016. Motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT Cathy Ballot reported a checkbook balance of $8,781.08. Cathy Ballot will add in the $125 outstanding check. She has paid the deposit for Kidsdance and the Petting Zoo. There was a motion by Jill Pettit, seconded by Bob Dillon to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried. Budget: Sue LaCrosse reviewed the budget expense worksheet. She said the business letters went out a month ago and we have only received two checks. Angie Crouch said she would be willing to go over to Wells Fargo. Jill Pettit said she would be willing to talk to someone at Killmer Electric. Sue LaCrosse will email the list of businesses that were sent letters. The committee reviewed the parade budget worksheet. To save money, we may cut back to five high school bands this year. No units will be paid to participate. Event/Activity Discussion:  Parade. Bob Dillon will contact the bands that participated last year. Park Center will not have a summer marching band season. They will not be participating in parades this summer.  Canstruction. Jill Pettit would like the name changed to Donation Creation. Expenses would be minimal. Participants bring their own food to make the sculptures.  Three Rivers. Sue LaCrosse said we should decide which activities we would like. The committee will request the Green Screen Photo Booth and make your own flower pot.  Concert. Sue LaCrosse asked for suggestions. She said if she did not hear from anyone in a week, she would find a group.  Face Painting. Sue LaCrosse said the cost is $495 if we want 3 face painters. This can be decided later.  Ice Cream Social. Sue LaCrosse said we may need to increase that budget item.  Track & Field Event. Melvin Anderson and Lisa Anderson highlighted the Youth Determined to Succeed AAU District Championship Track Meet at Brooklyn Center High School on June 25 & 26. They said admission is $5/person and 3 & under are free. This activity will be added to the schedule of events in the brochure. Melvin Anderson said Earle Brown Days participants could attend for free.
