moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2017-12
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE DESIGNATION OF BROOKLYN
CENTER AS A HEART SAFE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is committed to continued sudden
cardiac arrest CPR and AED training; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Heart Safe Committee has designated the
City of Brooklyn Center as a Heart Safe Community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that:
1.The City Council hereby recognizes and accepts the designation of the City of
Brooklyn Center as a Heart Safe Community.
2.The City Council reaffirms its commitment to support the Heart Safe
Brooklyn Center Program and its continued efforts to train and educate the
citizens and businesses in CPR, AED and in identifying Sudden Cardiac
Arrest.
3. The City Council commends Brooklyn Center residents, businesses and staff
for their continued interest, participation and training in becoming a safer
community to live, work and play.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Dan Ryan
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Tim Wilson, Marquita Butler, April Graves, Kris Lawrence-Anderson, Dan Ryan
and the following voted against the same:
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
