HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017 01-23 CCM Regular SessionMINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA REGULAR SESSION JANUARY 23, 2017 CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS 1.INFORMAL OPEN FORUM WITH CITY COUNCIL CALL TO ORDER INFORMAL OPEN FORUM The Brooklyn Center City Council met in Informal Open Forum called to order by Mayor Tim Willson at 6:50 p.m. ROLL CALL Mayor Tim Willson and Councilmembers Marquita Butler, April Graves, Kris Lawrence- Anderson, and Dan Ryan were present. Also present were City Manager Curt Boganey, Interim Assistant to the City Manager Reggie Edwards, Finance Director Nate Reinhardt, Public Works Director/City Engineer Steve Lillehaug, Director of Business and Development Gary Eitel, Director of Community Activities, Recreation and Services Jim Glasoe, Deputy Director of Building and Community Standards Jesse Anderson, City Attorney Troy Gilchrist, and Michaela Kuj awa-Daniels, TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc. Mayor Tim Willson opened the meeting for the purpose of Informal Open Forum. No one wished to address the City Council. Councilmember Graves moved and Councilmember Lawrence-Anderson seconded to close the Informal Open Forum at 6:52 p.m. Motion passed unanimously. 2.INVOCATION Councilmember Graves read a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. as the Invocation in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day. 3.CALL TO ORDER REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING The Brooklyn Center City Council met in Regular Session called to order by Mayor Tim Willson at 7:00 p.m. 4.ROLL CALL 01/23/17 -1- Mayor Tim Willson and Councilmembers Marquita Butler, April Graves, Kris Lawrence- Anderson, and Dan Ryan were present. MAYORAL APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER TO SERVE ON NORTHWEST SUBURBS CABLE COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Councilmember Ryan moved and Councilmember Graves seconded to ratify the Mayoral appointment of Darryl Sannes, 7006 Willow Lane, to the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission with a term to expire on December 31, 2017. Motion passed unanimously. 11.
