HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-011 CCRMember Dan Ryan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2018-11 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PARKING RESTRICTIONS FOR SEGMENTS ON BROOKLYN BOULVARD FROM 49TH AVENUE TO THE NORTH CITY LIMIT WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center and Hennep� in County have planned the tl improvement of Brooklyn Boulevard between 49"' Avenue and 59Avenue within the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota in 2018; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center and Hennepin County have planned the improvement of Brooklyn Boulevard between 59t" Avenue and Interstate 94 within the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota in 2021; and WHEREAS, Hennepin County will be expending County State Aid Funds on the improvements of said streets; and WHEREAS, the proposed street improvements do not provide adequate width for parking on both sides of the street on Brooklyn Boulevard from 49"' Avenue to the North City Limits; and WHEREAS, approval of the planned construction improvements as a County State Aid Highway project must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions to meet the minimum roadway design standards in accordance with Minnesota Rule 8820.9936. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the City shall ban the parking of motor vehicles at all times on the following street segments: 1. Both sides of Brooklyn Boulevard from 49"' Avenue to the North City Limits January 8, 2018 7Z�_ Date Mayor ATTEST: J90� City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Marquita Butler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Tim Willson, MArquita Butler, April Graves, DAn Ryan and the following voted against the same: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
