HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-120 CCRMember Marquita Butler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2018-120 RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER FOR FEDERAL PARTICIPATION IN ADVANCE CONSTRUCTION - MNDOT AGREEMENT NO. 1031036 WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has been awarded federal aid for the Brooklyn Boulevard Corridor Project Phase 1 from 49th Avenue to just north of Bass Lake Road, construction programmed for 2018; and WHEREAS, for federal aid roadway projects, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is typically delegated the duties to receive and disburse federal funds through the Federal Highway Administration; and WHEREAS, said agreement between the City of Brooklyn Center and MnDOT allows for MnDOT to act as the City's agent in accepting federal aid; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1.Pursuant to Minnesota Stat. Sec. 161.36, the Commissioner of Transportation be appointed as Agent of the City of Brooklyn Center to accept as its agent, federal aid funds which may be made available for eligible transportation related projects. 2.The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Brooklyn Center to execute and enter into an agreement with the Commissioner of Transportation prescribing the terms and conditions of said federal aid participation as set forth and contained in "Minnesota Department of Transportation Agency Agreement No. 1031036", a copy of which said agreement was before the City Council and which is made part hereof by reference.
