HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-091 CCRMember Ryan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2019- 091 RESOLUTION IDENTIFYING THE NEED FOR BROWNFIELD GAP FINANCING PROGRAM FUNDING AND AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS WHEREAS, Minnesota Brownfields, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, offers the Brownfield Gap Financing Program funded with an Environmental Response Fund grant from the Hennepin County Department of Environmental Services; and WHEREAS, the City has identified a need to conducted environmental assessments at four parcels located at the intersection of 61 ' Avenue and Brooklyn Boulevard and has received a detailed scope of services from Braun Intertec for this work; and WHEREAS, the City has the institutional, managerial and financial capability to adequately manage an Minnesota Brownfield Gap Financing grant; and WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in the grant agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, after appropriate examination and due consideration, the governing body of the City: 1. Finds that it is in the best interests of the City's development goals and priorities for the following proposed Brownfield Gap Financing Program project: Brooklyn Center — Coalition Development 2. Authorizes the Business and Workforce Development Specialist to submit on behalf of the City an application for Brownfield Gap Financing Program grant funds for the Brooklyn Center - Coalition Development environmental project components identified in the application, and to execute such agreements as may be necessary to implement the grant on behalf of the City. Butler, Elliott, Graves, Lawrence -Anderson, and Ryan and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. 2
