adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2019- 077
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION FOR
HENNEPIN COUNTY TRANSIT -ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has identified the Opportunity Site as a significant
redevelopment project for the City and is currently undergoing master -planning efforts for the site; and
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center will be making major investments in the area and
around the site, including the construction of new public infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, public infrastructure costs are an eligible expense and meets the grant program
guidelines as established by Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as
stated in the grant agreement; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project and grant application is consistent with and advances the
Strategic Priorities established by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, after appropriate examination and due
consideration, the governing body of the City:
1. Finds that it is in the best interests of the City's goals and priorities for the following proposed
Transit -Oriented Development project: Brooklyn Center Opportunity Site
2. Authorizes the Business and Workforce Development Specialist to submit on behalf of the City
an application for Transit -Oriented Development grant funds for the Opportunity Site project
components identified in the application, and to execute such agreements as may be necessary
to implement the grant on behalf of the City.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Ryan
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.
Butler, Elliott, Graves, and Ryan
and the following voted against the same: None.
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
