HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-115 CCRMember Ryan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2019-115 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NOS. 9-18, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 2018-05, BROOKLYN BOULEVARD CORRIDOR PROJECT PHASE 1 WHEREAS, pursuant to a written Contract signed with the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, C.S. McCrossan Construction Inc. of Maple Grove, Minnesota, was instructed to complete additional work as itemized on Change Order Nos. 9-18 for Improvement Project No. 2018-05, Brooklyn Boulevard Corridor Project Phase 1; and WHEREAS, Change Order 9 in the amount of $534.28 is for MnDOT's fiber optic interconnect between the TH 100 ramp signals; and WHEREAS, Change Order 10 in the amount of $4,703.03 is for connecting the existing traffic signals at Brooklyn Boulevard and 55th Avenue and at Bass Lake Road to a new source of power due to the undergrounding of the overhead power; and WHEREAS, Change Order 11 in the amount of -$3,000 (deduct) is for changing rigid steel conduit to plastic conduit for the traffic signal at Brooklyn Boulevard and 49" Avenue; and WHEREAS, Change Order 12 in the amount of -$1,673.70 (deduct) is for failed concrete strength tests; and WHEREAS, Change Order 13 in the amount of $1,100 is for additional tree removal due to an impacted root system from sidewalk installation; and WHEREAS, Change Order 14 in the amount of $4,112.82 is for three water services that were a different size than city records showed and for replacing a gate valve.; and WHEREAS, Change Order 15 in the amount of $8,500 is for locating numerous existing utilities using a vactor truck; and WHEREAS, Change Order 16 in the amount of $2,133.45 is for additional traffic control for a weekend closure of Brooklyn Boulevard from 49th Avenue to 51St Avenue; and WHEREAS, Change Order 17 in the amount of $11,703.24 is for monument sign letters that were omitted from the bid tabulation; and WHEREAS, Change Order 18 in the amount of $3,869.19 is for repairing a water and sanitary service that were not field located and were hit during construction; and WHEREAS, said additional work was not included in the original Contract, but was deemed necessary to properly complete the improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that Change Order No. 9 through 18 in the amount of $31,982.31 for Improvement No. 2018-05 is hereby approved. The revised Contract amount is as follows: Original Contract Amount $13,234,131.05 Change Order Nos. 1-8 $ 20,542.06 Change Order Nos. 9-18 $ 31,982.31 Revised Contract Amount $13,286,655.42 September 9, 2019 Date Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Lawrence- Anderson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. Butler, Ryan, Lawrence -Anderson, Graves, and Elliott and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
