RESOLUTION NO. 2019-135
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION FOR THE
DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE OF MATT KOEGL
WHEREAS, Matt Koegl was hired as a firefighter by the City of Brooklyn Center,
on September 1, 1997; and
WHEREAS, Matt Koegl has served the citizens of Brooklyn Center for 21 years
and retired at the rank of Captain; and
WHEREAS, Matt Koegl has helped train other firefighters in the safe operation of
our trucks as a driving trainer; and
WHEREAS, Matt Koegl was a member of the Dive Rescue Team and served time
as the assistant leader; and
WHEREAS, Matt Koegl achieved his call percentages for 262 straight months; and
WHEREAS, Matt Koegl although retired from the Fire Department, continues his
service to the public as an employee of Public Works.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that we recognize the honorable retirement of Matt Koegl on October
14, 2019, and express sincere appreciation for his dedicated public service. We wish Matt and his
family, the very best in the future.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Graves
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Butler, Graves, and Elliott
and the following voted against the same: None
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
