HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-137 CCRMember Graves introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2019-137 RESOLUTION APPROVING SUMMARY PUBLICATION FOR ORDINANCE 2019-10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center has adopted the above referenced ordinance concerning a Charter Amendment; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subdivision 4 allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing maps or charts; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent of Ordinance 2019-10. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: the following summary of Ordinance 2019-10 shall be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance. SUMMARY PUBLICATION Ordinance 2019-10 An Ordinance Amending Brooklyn Center City Code, Chapter 12, Sections 201-805 on October 14, 2019. Sections 201-805 are deleted in their entirely and replaced with amended: 201 - Definitions 301 - Property Maintenance Code — Adopting the IPMC Code 2018 edition as the property maintenance code of the City of Brooklyn Center. 302 - International Property Maintenance Code — amending/deleting several Sections within the Code. 303 — Removal of Snow and Ice — Snowfalls of three inches or more need to be removed from parking lots and driveways within 24 hours after cessation of snowfall. Snowfall of one inch or more or successive snowfalls accumulating to a depth of one inch need to be removed from steps and walkways within 8 hours after cessation of the snowfall. 304 — Maintenance of Driving and Parking Areas — All driving and parking areas need to be maintained in good condition consistent with Chapter 35 of the City Code. 305 — Fence Maintenance — Fence will consist of metal, wood, masonry, or other decay resistance material. Need to be maintained in good condition in appearance and structure. 306 — Facilities to Function — Every supplies facility, piece of equipment or utility, every chimney and flue shall be installed/maintained in a safe, sound, and working condition. 307 — Yard Cover — All yards will be covered with vegetation, garden, hedges, shrubbery and will be maintained with community standards, 308 — Screeninia — Required for all trash disposal facilities, recycling containers and outside or rooftop mechanical equipment. Butler, Graves, and Elliott and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
