HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-142 CCRMember adoption: Butler introduced the following resolution and moved its RESOLUTION NO. 2019- 142 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE HENNEPIN COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSE FUND (ERF) BY HYDE DEVELOPMENT WHERES, Hennepin County offers an Environmental Response Fund (ERF) grant to support the environmental assessment and cleanup of contaminated sites within the County; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has identified the former Sears location, located at 1297 Brookdale Center, as a priority redevelopment site within the City; and WHERAS, the City of Brooklyn Center understands that there may be contamination concerns regarding the underground tanks located on the property and the potential of hazardous materials within the building; and WHEREAS, Hyde Development has redevelopment interest in the site and is seeking to conduct environmental assessments of the property; and WHEREAS, Hyde Development has obtained permission from the property owner for the proposed work to be conducted and has received a scope of work for these services from an approved consultant; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, after appropriate examination and due consideration, the governing body of the City of Brooklyn Center approves the Sears Redevelopment Environmental Analysis project, for which an Environmental Response Fund grant application is being submitted to the Hennepin County Environment and Energy Department on November 4t', 2019 by Hyde Development Company subject to the following condition. 1. Any environmental analysis reports shall be shared with the City of Brooklyn Center Community Development Department. October 28 2019 Date Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Ryan and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof Butler, Graves, Ryan, and Elliott and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
