J. Lee Village of Brooklyn Center 7100 Osseo Road Brooklyn Center 22 Minnesota Dear Mr. Lee: 529 FIFTH AVENUE • NEW YORK, N. August 31st, 1964 BkOMIYN C-, N t tR Re: Northbrook Shopping Center Our delay in responding to your letter of August 7th was occasioned by our desire to check all of the facts carefully. Ronald Blake, our representative and Olaf Norberg, the General Contractor, both confirm the fact that arrangmenets were made subsequent to the issuance of the bond eliminating the green strip for the present. Because a considerable amount of business was expected from the new ventures, the owners provided parking areas considerably in excess of that which was provided on the plans supplied to the Village and certainly more than was required by ordinance. Even if some parking stalls are in fact under water for short periods of time, the remainder are more than sufficient to comply with our prior undertakings. It is noted that a consirable area was excavated beyond the paved lot into which water could drain;there were and are obvious difficulties in securing complete drainage because the adjacent highway is on higher ground. It is not our intent to be contentious in any way and certainly to our advantage to cooperate with suggestions made by the Village. I am sure you appreciate, however, that we are hampered for the time being because of the highway work and our inability to adjust to a highway drainage system which has not yet been installed. 1) It is our intent to further expand the Center when it becomes possible. Mean- time we must be patient and suffer some inconvenience; we ask that you extend the same degree of patience to us. Sincerely, THE FUTTERMAN CORPORATION By EuIlene Eichenberg Vi' e President V-`' EE:lvr cc: Ronald Blake August 1. 1%6 Mr. Ronald Blake Futterman Corporation 13700 Highwood thins Hopkins, Minnesota Dear sir. In 1963, Futterman Corporation submitted to the Village of Brooklyn Center a perforwnee agresmat regarding the Installation of certain improvements on and about Northbrook Shopping Center. To assure completion of the items enumerated in the perfosma!<se agreement, a bond in the amount of $3.500.00 was submitted to the, Village, executed July 120 1963, with the Home Indemnity Company of Chicago as surety. The Village Connell of the Village of Brooklyn Center has, at its meeting of July 250 1966, released the above»deseribed bond, as evidenced by the certified copy of the Minutes of that meeting enelosed herewith.
