I wish to advise you that the City's coning ordinance regulates the use of property within the City, including signery. The following quotation from the ordinance is pertinent in the case of your sign, situated as it is on R-1 zoned property: Unlighted nameplates not exceeding one square foot in area, with a 24 inch maximum for any dimension, bearing the name of the occupant of a residences and bulletin boards for schools or other public or semi-public institutions not exceeding 30 square feet in area with a seven foot maximum for any dimension. d. Unlighted real estutc "For Sale" or "For Rent" signs not exceeding two square feet in area, with a 24 inch maximum for any dimension." As you can see by a review of the above provisions, your sign is not legally permitted.
