1) Shoppers' City has operated a "gardex store" operation
such as the one proposed for several years with the
Cou.rcil's pexmli.ssion. Last year, a dispute arose following
the closing of the garden store operation revr,�xding
whether or not Shoppers' City could relocate the: garage
used for such sales to the north side of the main
'building for use as an accessory building or for use as
a garden store in succeeding years. The dispute ended
when the Council, on September 12, 1966, upheld the
PAninistrator's and the Building Inspector's rulings that
the sttructure be removed frarn the property. To avoid
misunderstanding which resulted in 1966, Nor. Roth of
Shoppers' City "has now asked in his special use request
that the garden store be per -knitted from April Ist toJuly 15th, thereafter to be rencoved to the north side
of the property, (see attached s',c.e :ch by- tax. r-Wth.)
P0I13TS TO BE CONSIDERED:
1) The garden store operation would occupy an area
approximately 40' x 100' to the south of the }primary
building.
2) Shoppers' City has (by our estimate) parking space for
1100 cares; their floor spare ranges from 120,000
square feet (requiring 902 parking spaces) to 140,000
square feet (requiring 1042 parking spaces). The proposed
use would occupy approximately 20 spaces.
