The official heating was scheduler: for the SepteNbe:r 5, 1974 meeting; neither the applicant or a representative was able to be there, and thus the matter was deferred. Approval is sought for a new plat consisting of three lots on the approximate 1.13 acre parcel which is zoned R-2. Each pro- posed lot is in excess of the minimum ?and area requirements for a two-lami y dwelling. The Director of Public Works will be prepared to discuss the recommended street right of way easements --along Lakeside Aver_ve and at the N.E. corner of the site. `. Consideration should oe given to specifying the removal of existing aged structures, within a specified period. The dwelling is within the recommended right of way and two others are accessory structures. Approval was d be subject to the following conditions: I. Post Office Sox J Osseo, dinresota 55359 Attn: :ir. Harold Olson Dear Mr. Olson: Please refer to your June 25 letter regarding the proposed Robert "arr_ <�ddi -ion in -rooklyn Center, `•-:innes��ta. The division of the property into three lots as you have drawn it is acceptable to me. 1 do not favor the 7-ridening of Lakeside Avenue. If it must be widened, I would su,xgest that -land be taken from property owners on both sides of the street equally. If 17 feet is taken only from property owners on the north side of the street from Twin Lake Ave. to Indiana Ave., the other homes on the street will be extremely close to the widened street. -I doubt that there would be sufficient land relnaininj for sidewalk, should that become desireable in the future. I would agree to giving up the full 17 feet reluctantly, and ON. tinder the conditions that the present structures be allowed to remain until construction is completed on the other two lots; and that the lot occupied by present structures will be approved •- by the city for area and setback requirements with a double bun- galow of approx. 1500 sq. ft. *plus garage. I fail to see the need for an easement for turn -around area at the end of the existinq alley. I woulr3 consider granting such an easement if'it did not affect the size of structure (s) allowed on the remaininry land, and assuming I would not be respon- sible for the cost of removin,; trees and preparing the turn -around area.
