Description of Request: Special use permit to operate an indoor batting cage
for softball and baseball players in the I-1 zoning district.

Brooklyn Center, within fifteen (15) days after mailing or delivery of the billing state-

Re: Proof -of -Parking for 6801 Shingle Creek Parkway
Dear Mr. Warren:
This letter shall acknowledge in writing, to the City of Brooklyn Center, that
The Ohio National Life Insurance Company, owner of 6801 Shingle Creek Parkway,
accepts responsibility for providing fifty-two (52) additional parking spaces
with appropriate delineation on the subject property, to the south of the
building, in the event that the City determines that such striped stalls are
necessary for the proper functioning of the site. The fifty-two (52) spaces
referred to are specifically located on a Proof of Parking Plan prepared by
Blumentals Architecture, Inc., revision dated October 31, 1986 (copy
attached). The total number of parking stalls possible are in excess of the
required 193, as additional spaces could be designated on the existing
bituminous pavement showed on the Proof of Parking Plan.
We acknowledge that, under the Brooklyn Center Zoning Ordinances, as they are
now constituted, the office occupancy of the building is limited to 23,042 sq.
ft., assuming the remaining 62,229 sq. ft. of the building are devoted to
permitted industrial uses. These calculations are based on a parking
requirement of one space per 200 sq. ft. of gross floor office space and one
space per 800 sq. ft. of gross floor industrial space, as follows:
Office: 23,042/200 = 115.21 spaces
Industrial: 62,230/800 = 77.79 spaces
TOTAL 85,272 sq. ft 193.0 spaces
