Variance from Section 35-340 to permit erection of a freestanding sign on the property . 5425 Xerxes Avenue North (Part of Tract E, R, L. S. 4,036) Red Owl Stores, Inc. 1) in approvals of the site and building plans of the Red Owl Stare, approvals of freestanding signing were specifically exempted, hence this request, POINTS TO BE CONSIDERED: 1) The location of the proposed sign has not yet been firmly .fisted, but it would be in the southernportion of the property. 2) The size of the sign is proposed as 60 feet in height, the sign would be three sided, with each side having an Owl's head of approximately 150 square fact area, and a signing section lower on the sign stating the names of the tenants (Red Owl and Snyder Drug) of approximately 100 square feet on each side. The argument advanced by Red Owl for the height of the sign is that this height is necessary for the sign to be seen by potential customers approaching Brookdale from the southwest on Highway #100.
