The following is a chronological report of activities relating co the :subject automobile
agencies
July 22, 1968 - site and building plan approval and special use permit. Mr. Christy
and Mr. l;obbins were present at the City Council meeting to support their requesi for
an expansion of the automobile display lot and the new car Storage area on to property
previously owned by others and located immediately south of 62nd Avenue, The Council
moved to direct the preparation or a resolution setting forth the Council"s findings in
approving the application (No. 68035) and further directed the Building Inspector to issue
a partial building permit to the applicant.
August 5, 1968 -- preliminary plat approval, Mr. Christy and Mr. Robbins appeared
before the City Council to support Application No. 68037 requesting preliminary plat
approval which would include the recently acquired parcel of property immediately south
of 62nd Avenue into the Brookdale Chrysler--Flymou-th plant, A draft resolution submitted
in response to the Council directive of July 22, 1968 was in`:roduced and discussed. Mr.
Gerald Tacheny attended the meeting for the purpose of discussing noise which emanates
from the *.vest door of the Brookdale Chrysler -Plymouth property. After thoroughly discussing
the matter and slightly modifying the wording of the resolution, the City Council adopted
the resolution which provided, in addition to the routine requirements, that "approval or
the additional lighting as indicated on the submitted plans shall be subject to final approval
by the City Council at the time that the subject lights are installed and adjusted " and
"the agreement between Chrysler Motors Corporation and the (then.) Village o% Brooklyn
Center dated January 7, 1.966 shall be modified and amended ;.o Conform to the use ptoposed
in Application No. 68035 and shall be effective upon acceptance and approval by the City
Council".
At the August 5; 1968 meeting, the City Council gave formal approval to the site and
building plan and to the lighting plan which was submitted to illustrate new site lighting.
The approved 1j.ghting plan incorporated lamps in the new car storage area consistent
with the lamp model which had been displayed on the site for the City Council on June
24, 1968. The lighting plans approved by the City Council included seven lamps to be
mounted on the back -drop wall at a mounting height of 20 feed and oriented to illuminate
the new car storage area
