He proposes to construct a 24' by 40' rambler with an attached garage in line with the existing single family home located to the north of the property which is set back 35 ft. from the property line along Brooklyn Boulevard. The applicant was given a copy of the standards for variances contained in the Zoning Ordinance and was requested to respond in writing as to how he feels he meets these standards at the time he made application for the variance. To date, other than the variance application, nothing has been received which indicates he should be allowed to build in line with the neighboring property. The Building Official has prepared an alternate drawing which indicates that the same home could be constructed on the site meeting all of the ordinance setback requirements. It is our feeling that this is primarily a matter of layout of the house on the property, and not a hardship denying the applicant use of the property. Also, it should be pointed out that the single family home to the south, although located further from the applicant's proposed home than the home to the north of the property, is set back approximately 53 ft. from the property line on Brooklyn Boulevard. A public hearing is scheduled and notices have been sent. Recommendation Your attention is directed to the standards for variances.
