RESOLUTION N0.2021-66
RESOLUTION APPROVING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE TO RESIDENTS
AFFECTED BY CIVIL UNREST
WHEREAS, Brooklyn Center residents who live in the immediate vicinity of the
Brooklyn Center Police station have had negative effects as a results of the activity occurring near
the police station; and
WHEREAS, many residents in the immediate vicinity of the police station had to
relocate for the safety of their household; and
WHEREAS, there have been additional unexpected costs incurred by these
residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to establish a policy to reimburse
for certain costs incurred by Brooklyn Center residents in the immediate vicinity of the Brooklyn
Center Police Station; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that city staff will establish a policy to reimbursed residents financially affected
by the activity that occurred near the Brooklyn Center Police Station starting on or after April 11,
2021.

Elliott
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Butler, Elliott, Graves, Ryan
and the following voted against the same: None.
