RESOLUTION NO. 2021-93
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING FIRE CHIEF AND EMERGENCY MANAGER
BERG, FOR LEADERSIP DURING PANDEMIC
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Berg has shown incredible resilience and leadership
through this pandemic, and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Berg became a Certified Emergency Manager logging 52
classroom hours and 100 hours of independent study; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Berg continually provided city leadership with pandemic
trends and looked ahead to make sure the city was positioned to respond; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Berg used his resources to ensure the city was prepared
with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and leveraged his contacts to open two
vaccination clinics supported by the city; and
WHERAS, Fire Chief Berg responded to civil unest and organized strike team task
forces in the event the unrest went poorly and again used his resources and contacts to make sure
the city was prepared to respond.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that we recognize Fire Chief and Emergency Manager Berg, for his
leadership during the COVID49 pandemic. _

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Lawrence -Anderson
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Butler, Elliott, Lawrence -Anderson, Ryan
and the following voted against the same: None
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
